Tullich Carved Stone Font
sketchfab
This pink granite font originates from a massive boulder, showcasing its coarse texture. A late 18th Century scroll plan of the Invercauld Estate clearly depicts this font situated outside Tullich Church's west wall. Measuring approximately 1.17m in diameter, the stone is substantial. The basin or bowl is neatly carved with vertical sides and a smooth flat base, featuring a drain hole that connects it to the outer surface of the stone. Although referred to as a "font," its precise purpose remains unknown. For more information on the Tullich site, visit Aberdeenshire HER. Scanning and modeling services were commissioned by Aberdeenshire Council Archaeology Service and executed by Spectrum Heritage.
