Tullich 2 is one of 27 carved stones discovered at Tullich Church in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This stone measures 1.55m x 0.44m x 0.25m and is a coarse-grained granite monolith. It boasts an intricately incised Latin cross with semi-circular outlines at the "armpits" of the cross, giving it hollow angles. The base of the cross features a horizontal incised shape with a triangle below, resembling a base stone and tenon. Historians believe this stone was repurposed as a lintel above a doorway in the south wall of Tullich Church. Experts estimate that the stone dates back to the Pictish-Early Medieval period, specifically between the 7th and 10th centuries AD. For more information on Tullich 2 and the site, visit Aberdeenshire's Historic Environment Record. The scanning and modeling work was commissioned by Aberdeenshire Council Archaeology Service and executed by Spectrum Heritage.
