Tullich 14 stands out among 27 intricately carved stones discovered at Tullich Church in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The stone boasts an uneven Latin cross design featuring a tapering shaft and a top arm that stretches upwards. A delicate extension of the upper cross outlines the upper arms, hinting at either two failed attempts to perfect the design or a deliberate artistic choice. The inner line is etched with less intensity than its outer counterpart. This 325 x 300 x 55-70mm pink granite stone is almost perfectly square in shape and is likely one of the many treasures unearthed during grave digging operations around the church between 1922 and 1968. Unfortunately, the exact location where it was found remains a mystery to this day. For more information on Tullich 14 and the site itself, visit Aberdeenshire's Historic Environment Record. Commissioned by Aberdeenshire Council Archaeology Service and skillfully executed by Spectrum Heritage through advanced scanning and modeling techniques.
