Tulip Candleholders

This OpenSCAD object draws inspiration from the same mechanism behind my "sea growth." I tweaked the stalks to resemble broad, pointed leaves, clustered together at the base. The resulting design bears a striking resemblance to a flower minus its central stem - or perhaps the leaves surrounding the stem of a flower. This led me to consider placing something in the center. Rather than incorporating an additional feature into the object itself, I thought a candle would be an excellent fit, so I carved out a cylindrical space to hold one. I've dubbed this design "tulip" as a nod to that flower's leaves rather than its overall appearance. At the height of 4 inches, a 12-inch candle seems to nestle perfectly within (a shorter candle appears slightly too stumpy in my opinion). OpenSCAD enthusiasts can easily augment the existing "leaves" by adjusting the parameter "n," but be aware that this will create a small opening at the base. Varying between 3 and 11 produces satisfactory results, with odd numbers being my preferred choice - even numbers result in an overly symmetrical appearance. I've included a 5-leaf version of this object in yellow. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 33% Notes: I printed this model using translucent red PETG (the box labels it "magenta," but, in reality, it appears as bright red as depicted in the photo). This process took nearly an hour to complete on my 3.2GHz i7 processor, with longer render times resulting from increased leaf counts.
