The tubular drive mechanism, utilizing a 1/2 inch aluminum conduit, is currently under development for an improved version featuring dual rails. This innovative design could excel as a linear axis drive when paired with a stepper motor and magnetic linear encoder, ensuring high accuracy and large-scale positioning. Test footage of the tubular drive mechanism can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0G8B77UOJs and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70dTRN7zSpU. For printing, use 75% infill with three shells for the parts and 100% infill for spacers. Employing standard 608 skateboard bearings for wheels, apply acetone to their sides and sandwich them between layers of material. Post-production, brush the wheel surface with acetone for enhanced bonding.
