Tube Rack

We're putting our modular, re-use method for storing long and thin items in the workshop to the test. So far, it's showing great promise. This approach is particularly useful for storing threaded rods, regular rods, round bar, pipes, linear shafts, or even ties, handkerchiefs, sticks, and similar rolled-up items that are too long and thin to fit elsewhere. It could also be used for building stools and furniture. The system can easily be scaled up for use with tubes of different diameters. It was designed specifically for tubes with an outside diameter of 52mm, which serves as the default size. The zip ties used at this scale are 4.8mm wide and require a minimum length of 250mm to assemble comfortably, but shorter lengths could still work. Our test assembly used 300mm-long zip ties.
