Tube Lamp
thingiverse
This lamp is design to simulate the Hay neon tube light with some added features so that it leans stably in a corner. In addition to the top and bottom caps, you'll need the following for this project - 1/2" diameter dowel rod1.25" diameter 1/8" thick frosted acrylic tube (same length as dowel rod). I used this product from Canal Plastics - https://www.canalplastic.com/products/frosted-acrylic-tube?variant=14127205777517COB led strip with adhesive Wrapping the LED strip around the dowel (as seen in the third image) created a sort of "barber shop pole" effect that I didn't love. In the 4th image, you can see that the tubes looked much cleaner in my next project. I cut the LED strip into 3 sections 1" shorter than my dowel rod, taped them radially along the axis of the rod, and then soldered them in series. This was much more successful in achieving the "neon tube" look I was going for, and I would recommend it for this project as well.
