The format options available include 3ds with simple object without textures & materials (with mapping included), dxf with the same simple object, max for more complexity, obj again for a basic model, and Scanline *.max 7 or higher with textures and materials for 3ds max 7. Lastly, V-Ray *.max offers an advanced version with textures and shaders.
