Fruit fly trap covers that fit onto yogurt containers and take-out soup tubs are designed to allow fruit flies in but prevent them from finding their way out. To create the traps, mix apple cider vinegar with a few drops of dish soap in the container and then place the lid on top. You may need to adjust the size of the cover slightly as it fits a bit too snugly and can be difficult to remove. However, no additional supports are required, at least when using a Prusa i3 MK3 3D printer.
