HistoryThis caboose, built in 1898 in Cologne for the Nordhausen-Wernigeroder-Eisenbahn (NWE), got the number 156. Compared to the wagon 154 this one had no mail compartment.Today this caboose is in use on historical trains. This design project was on the wish list - code name „Suppenwagen“. Pictures from 1980s [3] and this year 2023 [4] show some differences, so I we have two slightly different versions named 1982 and 2023 here.I didn't designed the actual wheel bearings and wheels in the 2023 version, because we hope it will get spoke wheels again and older pictures show the chosen ones.My photo, taken from a slide, shows it in a train in the late 1980s (1987?).Printing and post printingI printed all parts in ABS like resin on Anycubic Mono 4K. Is a try for printed handrails. Only the rails on sliding door and the steps below are made from wire.Roof was printed in 45°, main part 135° and the rails 30° (I added my supported version from Lychee, to make this part easier for you).priming main partpaint interior paintexterior basic paintadding wheel sets (I use 5,6 mm N gauge wheel sets 8,3mm diameter or spoke wheels)glue windowsadd weightglue roofadd railings paint the railing...Paintin 1980s I assume brown paint like a boxcar [3]in 1989 a more luggage car like red [5]now reddish brown with black bracesUpdates2023-10-09: Steps below sliding doorOrigin and licensingThe design is based on [1] p. 206 (NWE 154) and pictures made by Julius for matching box design.I don't want any commercial use of this design and prints. You are free to print my work for your projects, close friends and maybe your model railway club. Please post your makes. If you are representing a model or railway club, a school or something comparable with these and want to use it for educational purposes in higher numbers, please tell me.[1] Kieper, K., Preuß, R. & Rehbein, E.
