TSW Imola Wheel Center Cap

TSW Imola Wheel Center Cap

I had 2 TSW Imola wheels just lying here on my trailer, but when I tried to put them on, the center cap nut on each was stuck so much that it damaged too much during removal. Since my trailer is out of sight, I could leave those wheel nuts and hubs exposed without any issue. So, I decided to design my own center caps, as finding replacements wouldn't be worth the effort. The thread proved tricky at first since I didn't have a thread feeler gauge and there was limited space to get a vernier in there. After some trial and error, I got the thread right where it screws on comfortably without any play. I'm planning to print these custom center caps in ABS. For now, they're waiting for me to finish another printing project. The "nut" itself will be printed at 100% infill, while the rest of the design will have lower infills. To add a touch of style, I'll tap the screw holes in the nut to M5 thread and use stainless M5 cap screws to secure the nut cover onto the nut. This is purely for aesthetics, as it won't affect the strength of the design. The center spiral is an optional feature that you can easily replace with something else if you prefer. If you do choose to use a spiral, consider mirroring it on the other side of your vehicle so all the spirals will spin in the same direction.
