Despite returning it to the water, the statue continued to reappear in their hands. This extraordinary event led to the construction of Sensō-ji Temple as a tribute to the goddess of mercy. Completed in 645, Sensō-ji is Tokyo's oldest temple and a testament to Japan's rich cultural heritage.
