This mount is designed specifically for the TSOP311xx IR Receiver Modules from Vishay, marking its third iteration of the original design. Its intended use is in the Robocup Junior Soccer Competition, where robots pursue an IR-emitting ball by locking onto the pulsed IR signal, allowing them to determine the ball's location. Andrew Su of Team Pi, who secured a 3rd place finish at the 2013 Robocup nationals competition in Australia, designed this mount. It can be securely fastened with M2 screws and features grooves on its sides for hot gluing onto various surfaces. A central line is also included to aid in placement accuracy. The back of the TSOP Mount clearly indicates the Vcc, GND, and Output pins. The TSOP31140's capability to detect a 40khz signal emanating from the ball makes it an affordable option (approximately $1 each) available at Tris10.com. Additionally, Tris10 Robotics offers FindBall systems and other robotics equipment. For more information or exciting projects, visit our website at www.nonterminating.com.
