TS80P Soldering Iron Slim Travel Case
prusaprinters

I got a new soldering iron the TS80P and decided to make up a quick case thats sturdy and tough and keeps the iron tight in the case to protect against being tossed in a bag. The case accommodates (one) TS80P Soldering Iron, The one I am using is made by “miniware” but there a few other brands out there but they all should share a similar dimension from what I have read. The case has a snug fit lid with a small lip on the inside to keep it tight. Additionally there on inset holes for small 3mm x 5mm “pellet” magnets to keep the lid in place that can easily be pressed in without the need for glue.

Here is a link to the style magnet:

https://www.amazon.com/Personalized-Multi-Use-Whiteboard-Magnetic-Refrigerators/dp/B075PN65BM/ref=sr_1_24?crid=1WVFPGDHF07RQ&keywords=3x5mm+magnets+for+crafts&qid=1643677948&sprefix=3x5mm+magnets+for+crafts%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-24

Using magnets in this case is not required for the case lid to stay on tight, but rather just an added option in case you want too.

Here are some additional things you can do to make the case even more awesome:

Small circles of felt or cork can be put into the holder holes to quiet any rattling due to small amounts of fit variance.

The outside of the case is chamfered in a way to allow for a USB C cord to be coiled up and banded to the case and or strapped to a larger power supply.
