TS-80 custom grip collar (Weller inspired)

I designed a custom grip collar for my MINI TS-80 soldering iron, replacing the sleek stock version with an anodized aluminum finish that looks great.\r\n\r\nThis new design is made to be printed in slightly flexible material and I used a green TPU sample that worked out well. It's stiffer than rubbery filaments but still feels great in my hands.\r\n\r\nThe collar fits onto the body of the iron just like the original, with the cartridge fitting perfectly as well. The grip is slightly convex, extending further around the cone of the cartridge, which looks like a gun barrel heatsink.\r\n\r\nI'm really happy with how it turned out and I think it allows for better control over the iron. It feels more secure in my hand and prevents fingers from slipping.\r\n\r\nIt would work just as well with hard plastic and still feel better than the original grip. The rubberized feel is similar to a Weller feel, which I really like.\r\n\r\nCheck out my design for a TS-80 carrying case that fits both standard and custom grips. You can also check out my other designs if you're interested.\r\n\r\nIf you like it, don't forget to tip me! If you have any problems printing, just let me know and I'll do my best to help.
