TRX4 - Yet Another Front Battery Mount
thingiverse
I saw a few other front battery trays for the TRX4 that didn't quite meet my expectations. Each had its own set of drawbacks that kept me from giving them a try. This particular tray, however, bolts right onto the chassis using the same servo mount screws I already have on hand. Plus, it securely fastens to the frame with those very same screws - the ones used for the front bumper mount. Take a look at my setup in the picture and you'll see what I mean. One of its best features is the slots for attaching a velcro battery strap. On my TRX4 Sport, I was able to squeeze in a 3000mAh 3S battery with ease. Installing this tray was the final step needed to get my weight balance as close to 60/40 as possible. It's open underneath, giving me room to add whatever I want - like a winch or my receiver. The battery plate even has countersunk screw holes in case I need to attach something there. I printed mine using PETG, but next time around I'll probably go with TPU instead. It should print fine without any supports or rafts.
