What is a Human? A human being is an individual member of the species Homo sapiens or of any other hominid species. Humans are characterized by their bipedalism; frontally placed brain case and face; ability to walk upright on two legs; lack of a tail; relatively large size and naked skin; small canines and absence of a canine diastema; grinding teeth; binocular vision, large brain size, and highly developed cognitive abilities compared with other animals.
