TRUSS simple visual truss

TRUSS simple visual truss

After printing some Stage Inspired Spotlights, I started searching for a truss to hang them on. I drew this truss in Fusion 360, and it's actually a very simple Visual truss. It's not an exact replica of any truss I've ever used, but rather a mix of triangle staging truss and Rohn antenna truss features. Its design makes it easy to print vertically without infill or support needed. The outer tubes are 6.3mm in diameter, which is roughly equivalent to 1/4 inch, while the outer tube spacing is on 25mm centers. All the tubes are hollow, allowing sections to be connected with small tubes (I used brass) glued inside the truss tube. If you cut about 10mm off each end, the joint will appear visually seamless. However, if you join them as printed, they'll resemble antenna truss more closely, where the web stops briefly at the joints between sections. Again, these were designed specifically as a Visual truss, not a model of any specific truss, and the angles were chosen to make it print easily (60-degree web). This design should be scalable as long as your nozzle and shell combination can fill the tube walls.
