Trunk Retainer (2005-09 Ford Mustang)

Replacement for the trunk retainer hardware in a 2005-2009 Ford Mustang, specifically designed to screw onto a tail-light bolt and hold the trunk trim firmly in place. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) retainer is notoriously expensive and prone to frequent breakage, which prompted me to model, print, and install this part in my own trunk to test its durability. The hole on this custom retainer measures 7/32" (5.56 mm), while the bolt it screws onto is a standard 6mm size. If you're running aftermarket tail-lights, you may need to drill out the hole or adjust the model slightly to ensure a proper fit. I successfully installed two of these retainers: one was threaded and one wasn't, both functioning flawlessly. For installation, use a 15mm socket wrench to secure it tightly in place.
