This is a replica of the Mercedes-Benz ML 2006 w164 trunk curtain holder. This part secures the curtain when you pull it over the trunk. This is the right-hand side component - if you need the left-hand side, simply mirror this design. I snapped mine in half and spare parts cost 866 euros because they only sell them as a package deal with the interior trim pieces for the trunk. To make installation easier, I broke down the design into two sections. First, clip the base plate into place, then attach the holder to the top using glue. Initially, I had envisioned this part as one solid piece, but it became clear that assembling it would be nearly impossible due to its snug fit.
