Trunk Cover Clip (Parametric)
thingiverse
My first creation!\r\n\r\nI built this after a tire shop ruined my stock clips on my '17 Chevy Sonic. It employs Freecad's spreadsheet feature to set values. The parameters are straightforward, so you should be able to figure them out easily. These designs might work for other cars as well, if their trunk cover clips attach to a round post and use a string (I used round shoelaces). I discovered that a 6mm clip opening is easy to use without accidentally coming off. You may want to adjust this setting.\r\n\r\nI'm using a 0.4mm nozzle and have set the layer height at 0.32mm, along with 6 perimeters, so there's essentially no infill; all the plastic is laid down in the strongest direction possible. I've chosen PETG since it's less rigid than PLA and can withstand the heat inside a car. Additionally, I'm using 0.32mm of elephant's foot compensation because this will ultimately reduce the diameter of the clips at the bottom.
