Truncated icosahedron Buckyball with 32 holes
pinshape
Core assembly for Copper Magnet Sphere, manufactured through 3dhubs printing process four times. Three units have been successfully filled with 60 neodymium magnets, each measuring 4mm in diameter. Each hole within the assembly requires precise sanding to ensure a tight fit of the magnets, which can be achieved by applying glue as an additional adhesive measure. This task demands attention and care due to its complexity. For those seeking a hassle-free experience, I offer complete Copper Magnet Spheres available for purchase, polished or matte finish options, copper shell inclusion, or without the shell. Magnetic field strength is significantly reduced when all north poles face outward, as observed in two out of three produced units. Although south poles still exist between magnets, they cannot levitate on a wide surface with only north polarity present. One unit features 12 north poles, while another has a black soccer ball design, resulting in an enhanced magnetic field strength. One assembly remains without magnets, awaiting further completion. Designing the stand for finished copper spheres is an ongoing process. Share your innovative ideas to contribute to this project. Additional photos are available at https://www.flickr.com/photos/...
