This is a tool to aid in applying valve oil to trumpet valves. How to use: - With the trumpet on its side, insert into the three bottom valve cap ports with the cups facing up. The frame will flex to allow insertion for a range in distance between the ports among trumpet makes. - Put a few drops of valve oil into each cup and tilt horn to pour oil into valve casing, then work the valves a bit. Capillary action in the valve clearance will ensure the entire valve surface is coated. Do not need to disassemble the trumpet at all, so it takes less time and there is less risk to the piston, threads, or slides. Can be used on dry/sticking valves without pulling the piston out dry. The valve oil bottle tip does not always fit into the bottom caps, and it is easy to overdo it with expensive synthetics applying it like that. The nibs will insert past any residue in the bottom cap so there is no concern about washing it up towards the valve.
