Trumpet Mouthpiece- 1.5C
thingiverse
A trumpet mouthpiece, originally based off a 1.5c design by jcooper, has been modified to achieve a more streamlined appearance, reducing print errors. The bore size was increased, requiring a drill to enlarge the original design for better playability. Additionally, the "1-1/2C" engraving on the side was removed for simplicity. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: Med/High Infill: High (20-100%) Notes: Most print settings have a minimal impact, as sanding by hand is inevitable. Higher infill percentages enhance sound quality and durability. One solid build and another with four shells and 30% infil both function satisfactorily. PLA was utilized, although ABS might also work due to its tolerance for heat. Surprisingly, the mouthpiece performs better without a heated build plate, as it promotes a rounded base rather than a flat one. Post-Printing: Sanding by hand is necessary, and if needed, even out the bore with a drill. The first print was quite constricted, but increasing the bore significantly improved sound quality.
