Trumpet 3RD Valve Tuning Slide Stop : Reynolds / Olds
thingiverse
I've searched far and wide for another 3rd tuning slide stop for my Reynolds "Special" trumpet, but to no avail - it's an incredibly rare horn. Still, I'm holding onto hope that it will fit perfectly on other trumpets, particularly those in the Reynolds / Olds line. I'd love to hear from anyone who has successfully fitted this piece on their instrument. Please note that using this file or design for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited, but I'd be flattered if you were to attribute the design to me. The design features numerous hidden grooves and bumps that allow it to work seamlessly and stay securely in place. The small spindle braces on my model trumpet have a bead-like profile, so all the slots have been carefully contoured to accommodate this unique shape. The grooves slide smoothly past these ferrules where necessary and snap around them when required. I apologize for the excessive flashing visible in the design - it's due to a custom form I used on TinkerCad that didn't quite live up to its promises. You can simply peel off the excess, give it a light sanding, or leave it as is if you prefer. To smooth out any rough edges, I've given it a gentle scrape with my thumb nail.
