Truckbot Electronics Kit
thingiverse
Despite a temporary Cupcake breakdown, I managed to print essential mounts for my truckbot's electronics. The bot is now equipped with a Linux single board computer, 2 DC motor controller, webcam, 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, light sensor, thermometer, humidity sensor, WiFi and sonar. Electronics mounted include Phidgets' phidgetinterface01070, phidgetinterface01064, phidgetinterface01128, phidgetinterface01056, phidgetinterface01125, phidgetinterface01127, phidgetsonar03402 and phidgetwireless03702. The single board computer has been replaced with the Phidgets' phidgetcontrolboard01072. Check out this YouTube video of my truckbot in action: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA7mihbLalw](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA7mihbLalw). For the newer board, print one each of sbcholder1072a.stl and sbcholder1072b.stl, attaching them to truckbot's connector3. Mount the sbc with included bolts, spacers and nuts. Attach a pcbconnector to each sbcholder, followed by dcmholder on each pcbconnector for mounting dc motor controller using provided bolts, spacers and nuts. The Spatial 3/3/3 board goes on the spatialholder attached to connector8 on truckbot, while other boards require your own hardware. Lumenholder is for light sensor and attaches to side connector1, while temphumidityholder fits on the other side connector1 for temperature/humidity sensor. Sonar sensor requires soldering and replacement of connector10 with connector10sonar. Two software versions are provided - 'lite' for sbc and dc motor controller, and 'full' for all electronics. Install Java app on the sbc by compiling it into an executable jar file and uploading via web interface. The app runs a web service on port 5773, controlling the bot through an html file interacting with the dedicated web service. To install this file into sbc's built-in web interface, make the file system writable and use command line: ssh root@phidgetsbc.local mount -o remount,rw /; ssh root@phidgetsbc.local mkdir /www/bot/; scp index.html root@phidgetsbc.local:/www/bot/.
