Truck Tonneau Cover Lever
thingiverse
This is a replacement lever for the tonneau cover on my Ford Ranger. I couldn't find any designs that matched the one I already had (and I didn't want to spend the $30-40 on a new one) so I designed my own. The original is made out of a more flexible plastic that allows for tension between the top and bottom pieces. Since I printed this in PLA, I had to come up with another way to lock the lever in place, which I did with a small notch on the top piece. Because of this, the lever sort of snaps a bit when unlocking (when I tested it on my truck) but it should smooth out a bit over time. I also included an unthreaded barrel nut that I used (just forced the bolt through to create a thread and it holds well). Metal would be nicer but I wasn't able to find an M6 barrel nut anywhere in my city. It's not perfect but it seems to work enough. Any remixes to improve it would be great! I've uploaded a picture of it in use, along with the original one on the other side of the truck (in black) to compare.
