Tire 520/85/R38 Commercial vehicles rely on Heavy duty tires, commonly referred to as Truck/Bus tires. These oversized tire sizes are specifically designed for commercial freight trucks, dump trucks, and passenger buses. Heavy duty tires are sub-categorized by position such as steering, drive axle, and trailer, with each type engineered with customized reinforcements, materials, and tread patterns optimized for performance. A pioneering concept in heavy duty tires is the use of Super Singles or Wide Singles, where a dual configuration featuring two tires per position, each measuring between 275 mm-295 mm wide, is replaced by a single tire, typically 455 mm wide. This setup allows for reduced ground contact and eliminates two sidewalls per position. In addition to weight savings of about 91 kilograms (200 lb) per axle, this enables vehicles using Super Singles or Wide Singles to significantly improve fuel economy. This design was originally created in CAD using the Solidworks system and converted into various formats.
