Truck System Technologies (TST) Color Display Mount Bracket
thingiverse
My motorhome's class A tire pressure monitor system is equipped with a color display by Truck System Technologies (TST), which I utilize for monitoring purposes. However, the display lacks a reliable mounting system, despite coming with a rubber stand and suction cup mount that don't function well in my RV environment. To resolve this issue, I designed a simple yet versatile mount that can be attached to various setups, such as RAM ball mounts or velcro strips. I created this design using Fusion 360, which required several iterations to achieve the perfect fit. The orientation arrow on the design indicates that I added a slight chamfer to the squares that interface with the display's back panel. As a result, the mount fits securely in place. Initially, I attempted to print the mount using PLA, my go-to material, but it turned out to be slightly brittle. This experience led me to explore printing with ABS for the first time. To my surprise, Hatchbox ABS performed exceptionally well at 80/230°C platform/extruder temperatures, exhibiting no warping and remarkable strength. To enhance the mount's durability, I incorporated small fillets in the base of its columns, which are designed to reduce fracture points. Although these fillets printed poorly due to their tiny size, the resulting mount is secure and robust. In response to user feedback, I updated the design to enable easy removal of the display from the dash/velcro bracket for review purposes. This modification allows users to slide the unit up and out of the holder, eliminating the need to pull it off from the velcro strip.
