The Earth's tropics, encircling the Equator, are determined by the Tropic of Cancer at 23°26′12.7″ N and the Tropic of Capricorn at 23°26′12.7″ S latitudes. These regions, also known as the tropical or torrid zones, experience the Sun's zenith contact at least once annually. In contrast to middle and polar latitudes, the tropics cover 40% of Earth's surface area, contain 36% of its landmass, and house 40% of the global population, expected to rise to 50% by the late 2030s. Additionally, a set of six low-poly tropical plant models, with transparent textures, were created in Blender v2.77, totaling 650 trips.
