Tronxy X5SA Titan Extruder Direct Drive Setup (Stock Parts)
thingiverse
Hey if you own a Tronxy X5SA, you probably want to upgrade your setup unless you like long round shapes. To get rid of the 10m long bowden tube, I recommend replacing it with a shorter one. I ended up with stringing on PLA prints at 180° with 10mm retractions. The chainmail in the photos is printed with 3mm retraction and there's no visible stringing. You'll only need a few parts to make this upgrade happen: You will need: Cable Extension for Extruder motor Keep in mind that you should use the stock motor for this upgrade, as using a smaller pancake motor requires reducing the driver's current, which I was unable to do. If I measure from the adjustable resistor to ground, I always read out 0 volts. It seems like Tronxy decided to use fixed resistors to save time. Other parts I used: A replacement for the cable chain can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MQ698YM A better PTFE tube can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N67DYGD Better timing belts (reinforced ones) can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0748D1GF3 A cooler for the extruder motor (with more weight, but even the stock ones tend to get hot) can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083ZXF4HH
