This design exists for the same reason as <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4808796">TronXY X5SA 500 Lower Z Smooth Rod Stabilizer by AutoWiz</a>. I found that the cutouts for the smooth rods in the motor plates are too big and the rods fit into the holes instead of riding on the edge like I believe was intended. This makes the rods act like they are too short and they pull the frame inwards, causing binding. These allow the rods to float above the plates where they don't interfere yet are provided a solid and secure mounting point. This design includes compression screws to firmly fix the bottom of the smooth rods. I also added a bit more mass and structure to my design compared to AutoWiz's.
