Remixed and revised the mount, and created a new shroud to hold a 5015 fan. A little modeling clay around the mouth of the 5015 fan creates a nice seal so that the nozzle can build up static pressure. The duct creates a sheet of air that blows on the part below. Won't win CFM awards, but gets the air where it needs to be. I loved the original design due to its light-weight approach. Just wanted a radial parts cooler as they tend to be on the quiet side. Total printed part weight at 30% infill should be around 30 grams. Though dual duct would be optimal for part cooling, there may be a penalty in terms of overall moving mass. I may release a dual duct version in the coming weeks. Update 12/11/2021: Revised nozzle geometry and ducting to maximize the airspace behind the shroud nozzle. This should help give the air a nice bump in velocity. Use ShroudMount v2. Update 12/24/2021: Once again, revised duct geometry, but this time at the exit. the air spray is directed right at the nozzle. Update 1/4/2022: Made very minor tweaks to the nozzle geometry. The air flows in a somewhat conical fashion out the duct, and converges on a point just below the nozzle, resulting in maximum velocity where it's needed most. Simpler mount, but it does require a couple holes to be drilled into the plate and threaded for M3 screws. Overall, it saved on weight by quite a bit and made things look a bit more visually cohesive. Honeycomb design for a bit of flair. You *will* need to run a PID auto-tune afterward, as this thing moves quite a bit of air now. Update 1/9/2022: Made a new single-sided mount for brute CFM as an idea. Turns out, it works very well. This version REQUIRES a silicone sock or kapton/fiberglass insulator to prevent temp errors (at least on a standard 30/40W cartridge and block). For low-temp printing, PETG or ABS should work just fine. I'm moving to high-temp, so I printed this one out in polycarbonate. Update 1/17/2022: V5 is officially out. I did some "puddle" testing, re-centered the airflow by adding a lip to the bottom of the exhaust. Should cool slightly better on the opposite side.
