This dial indicator mount for the X5SA (version 03) doesn't obstruct the movement of the extruder or fan. It attaches to the four fan mounting bolts, requiring disassembly of the fan shroud. Slightly longer bolts may be needed than those used stock, but I found perfect length bolts in the bag of extras that came with my printer. This mount is designed for use with a specific dial indicator: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00SG6CIVO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Here are the specs for this dial indicator: - 0 to 1 inch range - 0.001-inch readout - 0.374-inch stem diameter (the part that interfaces with the mount) - 2.175-inch dial diameter The mounting hole should be reamed or drilled to 0.375 inches, which provides a snug fit with the stem of the dial. If done properly, the two M4 set screws at the front are barely necessary. I recommend printing this mount in relatively high density to minimize flexing. However, the print head itself has more flexibility than this mount, regardless of infill settings. I used 80% infill and suggest a minimum of 50%. Testing shows that levelling the bed within 0.02 inches is possible with the stock mat. With a glass bed, I expect to achieve accuracy within 0.01 inches, which should be more than sufficient.
