Tronxy X5S Z axis and bushing reinforcement plus bed lowering
thingiverse
Hi all, After using many different models created by others, I designed my own, combining and incorporating everything I wanted. The result is this, and I've been using it with amazing success. To use the self-centering nuts, you'll need to obtain extra parts from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:602481, as the small one snapped. I made a larger nut in the files for that reason. You'll also need eight of this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2537701. I love this Spiral vase bushing; it's an excellent filler to put between the bearing we already have, making it four bushings long will make it rock solid. As you can see, there are two brackets. I realized that the first version would only yield 388 mm, but with the V2 bracket, you'll get the full 400mm. I added blocks that can be used to lower the bed if needed. Everything was printed in PETG on a 0.4 nozzle, with three walls and cubic x2 layers for extra strength. I also applied oil to the bearing and bushing. When screwing the bushing tubes into the metal plate, I used extra-long M3 screws so that the support would be securely pressed against the rest, making everything even more solid. This setup will provide a long-lasting hold on the rods and prevent the metal plates from bending over time due to the weight of the bed. It also allows for greater stability and eliminates vibrations.
