TronXY X5S with Prusa Bondech BMG extruder
thingiverse
I like the stability and functionality of the Prusa MK3, and I combined it with the Bondtech BMG extruder together with Kozamakers X-carriage for the Tronxy X5S with smart belt tensioning mounts. The cable chain is about 30mm higher than the original to go free from the belts. The carriage is stable with four wheels that are really tight. You might want to drill/clear the holes in the back to take some load off the wheels and easier assemble, but make the holes in the front stay narrow. 1. Start by mounting the four long screws for the wheels to the front carriage. You might want to glue them since you can't reach them when putting the carriage on the printer. 2. Mount the Prusa extruder parts together with the Bondtech BMG/E3D hotend. And remember to press in the three M3-nuts in place (use an M3 screw and tighten them in place). Replace the three BMG-screws with three pieces of M3x40. Check that the BMG and stepper motor are working, and all parts go free. 3. Mount the extruder parts to the X-carriage with three M3 screws from the back. 4. Mount the X-carriage and v-slot wheels on the printer. Remember to set e-steps to 415 for the BMG (Marlin) or 830 for 1/32 microstepping (Smoothieware). If you can't change it in firmware, use start code: M92 E415 in your slicer. Print the parts with high infill. Print with support. The extruder parts from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3245861 (I used DissEd). Cones for the wheels from SGABOLAB https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2574935/.
