Tronxy X5s superX bar mod hot end carriage plate
thingiverse
Updated with a file of gantry plates using some quick measurements, any ideas and improvements welcome! The gantry plate is designed to fit 5mm bolts, and the obj file is there for you to change tolerances. Created with a free windows 10 program called 3d builder. I had my Tronxy x5s down for repairs long ago and thought maybe a future upgrade could be putting the gantry bar on top of the y carriage plates. This would increase accuracy by having belts in line with the bar that the extruder carriage plates move on. I didn't change the position of the hot end to experiment with finding ways to raise the bed further to add an additional 24.5 mm of build height, giving clearance for a offset 3 wheel y carriage. This design would have more room for reinforcement than current designs with the single wheel being on the inside, allowing you to fit an additional 4 corner brackets on the inside of the frame without wheels running into them. This is the hot end carriage plate of my idea. I haven't tested it yet, but I'm thinking it should work with stock parts. The plate should work at 4 mm thickness (increase it from the 2 mm as it's designed for a metal part). This is a quick design that I made for testing only - feel free to improve upon it and help me make the y carriage plates I describe in this summary.
