TronXY X5S Single Z Motor Mod
thingiverse
The Tronxy X5s is a phenomenal machine when properly tuned, but one thing I continually battled was the two Z motors struggling under gravity's weight when power is off. This modification was designed to eliminate that issue while increasing Z resolution and also extending Z height to 440mm. Due to gearing effects of 60 or 40 tooth gears, you'll need to adjust your printer controller's Z Steps to 3x (for 60 tooth pulleys) or 2x (for 40 tooth), whatever it currently is, and, of course, then recalibrate. You will require a few parts: 2 x 500mm long 2mm pitch Lead screws 2 x Pillow Block Flange Bearings 2 x smooth 2GT 6mm/10mm Wide Belt Timing Pulleys 1 x toothed 2GT 6mm/10mm Wide Belt Timing Pulley 1220mm GT2 Closed loop Belt 2 x GT2 Synchronous Wheel 60 or 40 tooth, 8mm Bore Aluminum Timing Pulley 2 x 30mm M5 nuts and bolts for the GT2 pulleys 4 x 20mm M5 nuts and bolts to hold the Pillow Bearings in place 4 x 10mm M3 bolts for the stepper motor A couple of washers on top and below the GT2 pulleys There are two parts: one motor mount with left and right variants, and one mount for the other side. Print with supports in PETG.
