TronXY X5S Single Z Motor Mod

<p>The Tronxy X5s is a brilliant machine when tuned properly, but one thing i kept struggling with was the two Z motors moving under the weight of gravity when the power is off.</p> <p>This was designed to eliminate that issue whilst increasing Z resolution and also Z height to 440mm.</p> <p>Due to the gearing effect of the 60 or 40 tooth gears you will need to change your printer controllers Z Steps to 3x (for 60 tooth pulleys) or 2x (for 40 tooth) whatever it currently is and of course then recalibrate.</p> <p>You will need a few parts:</p> <p>2 x 500mm long 2mm pitch Lead screws</p> <p>2 x Pillow Block Flange Bearings</p> <p>2 x smooth 2GT 6mm/10mm Wide Belt Timing Pulleys</p> <p>1 x toothed 2GT 6mm/10mm Wide Belt Timing Pulley</p> <p>1220mm GT2 Closed loop Belt</p> <p>2 x GT2 Synchronous Wheel 60 or 40 tooth 8mm Bore Aluminum Timing Pulley</p> <p>2 x 30mm M5 nuts and bolts for the GT2 pulleys</p> <p>4 x 20mm M5 nuts and bolts to hold the Pillow Bearings in place</p> <p>4 x 10mm M3 bolts for the stepper motor</p> <p>a couple of washers on top and below the GT2 pulleys</p> <p>There are two parts . one motor mount - with left and right variants - and one mount for the other side.</p> <p>Print with supports in PetG</p> <p>Update : May 2020 : I've just added an updated version for 2020 :)</p> <p>This new version adds</p> <blockquote> <p>more space for the stepper motor for longer belts, or for 20, 40 or 60 tooth drive pulleys</p> <p>a hole for an M5 bolt and retaining nut which allows for much easier tensioning of the belt.</p> <p>a wider tower for the top pulley holder</p> </blockquote> <p>If you require a right hand side version, you can just mirror the left hand part.</p> Category: 3D Printer Parts
