For a stock extruder, the original aluminum plate that holds the extruder bolts directly on the face of New X gantry.stl needs modification. One of the slots that secures the belt must be elongated by about 4mm using a dremel or similar tool. I used two cuts with a hacksaw blade along each side and then broke out the sliver in the middle. Print New X gantry 2.stl with supports for where the belt is located. This requires a 400mm linear bearing, which can be found on eBay at https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-MGN12H-Mini-Steel-Linear-Sliding-Miniature-Guide-Block-CNC-250mm-550mm/172866159016. Mount the linear bearing in the center between the Y gantry brackets and secure it to the top of the 20x20 aluminum with M3x7mm screws and T-nuts. These screws will also work for mounting the piece to the block, which will raise the extruder nozzle height by about 7mm. This modification is compatible with a stock X5S or any version upgraded with my modifications. If you have a longer rail than 400mm, measure between the Y gantry brackets and cut it with a hacksaw according to your needs. Updated on April 13, 2018: I added New X Gantry46mmBlock.stl and New X Gantry 2 46mmBlock.stl due to the bearing block that arrived being 45.4mm, as stated in the data sheet, instead of the initial 49mm measurement. Measure accordingly when printing these new parts.
