Tronxy X5S motor belt tension
thingiverse
I'm afraid Zdunlap is right, the connectors to the frame are poorly designed resulting in an incorrect height for the motors. Check his remix at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3725862 for a correction. The left and right sides are different; the middle ring is the same for both sides. The belts need to be slightly longer than in the original design. I didn't want belt 'tensioners' in the front of the machine, and I wanted to adjust the tension easily. I also don't like using non-printed parts (bearings). This is my first core XY, and it seems belt tension is more important than in cartesian types as both axes are affected by both belts and both belts affect X alignment. I tried to make something elegant. I'm not sure if I achieved elegance, but monstrosity: I got that covered. The screw in the corner is not necessary but will help with frame rigidity. Unfortunately, I didn't think about the length of that screw, and it has to be between 10 and 8... Update 2019.02.25: I am now using this version. Removed the "In progress" tag. Update 2019.03.02: The current base that connects to the frame is smaller than previous versions and tends to deform. Added suggested higher infill.
