Tronxy X5s Mega Gantry Plates
thingiverse
CAUTION: If you are using stock bearing sandwich idlers on the front, you'll need to add an extra slightly smaller washer underneath the first big washer. The gantry of the X5s is quite wobbly due to its short wheel base and lack of fixture support on the x rail. However, the X5s has a lot of spare rail hidden away at the front, with only the X end stop in the way. By redesigning the X endstop bracket, I extended the wheel base by twice the original size, from 45mm to 90mm, making a huge difference. The gantry is now so rigid that it was clear my entire frame was slightly skewed, and I used the assembled gantry as a guide to re-square my frame. The new X endstop design also provides mega solid braces for the x-bar, mounting at four points on each side in two planes for ultimate alignment and stiffness. This redesign removes the need for an extra spacer on the bed for the Z end stop; it is now positioned to just touch the frame of the bed. I'll get around to a more detailed parts and instructions list later, but for now you can reuse most stock bolts. You'll need an additional: 8x 5mm washers (no wheel spacers required, but does need a 1mm washer) 2x M5 x 50 bolts (for the idler pulleys) 4x M3 x 30 bolts (for the back side braces) 4x v-slot nut things (for the back side braces; I don't know the correct name for them) Print as already oriented in the STL files, no supports needed. I'll also be uploading my e3d-v6 mount soon, shown in the pictures, which combines a belt straighter for the two very unaligned belts on the extruder.
