Tronxy X5S Endstop bracket for Z axis optical limits
thingiverse
Having tried and failed miserably with my SKR V1.3 board's Z probe auto Z axis alignment, I decided to move on to the next attempt using dual Z endstops instead. My goal was to use optical ones as they should allow the bed to pass through them when not active, hopefully avoiding any interference with subsequent auto bed levelling after Z axis alignment. These brackets can be used even if you don't want to go down the auto align or auto levelling road and work simply as a Z axis endstop upgrade. The items I bought are available on eBay at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263917310874, standard Chinese but seem to work okay on the bench. There are currently two versions of the bracket. One has a cable tidy that I modified after fitting mine. If you have internal corner brace blocks fitted to your extrusions, these may interfere so I left the original one in place. Update: July 5th, 2020. I didn't continue working on this project as I eventually managed to get the dual Z axis auto align to work with the ABL probe. This design remains available for those who still prefer traditional endstop limits.
