Tronxy X5S Endstop bracket for Z axis optical limits
thingiverse
Having tried to get the Z probe auto Z axis alignment working and failing miserably with my SKR V1.3 board, I thought I'd go to the next attempt using dual Z endstops. I wanted to use optical ones as they should allow the bed to actually pass through them when they are not active which hopefully won't interfere with subsequent auto bed levelling after the Z axis alignment. These brackets should also work, even if you do not want to go down the auto align or auto levelling road, and work simply as a Z axis endstop upgrade. The items I bought are these. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263917310874 Standard Chinese cheap as chips but they seem to work ok on the bench at least. There are currently two versions of the bracket. One has a cable tidy which I modified in after fitting mine. If you have internal corner brace blocks fitted to your extrusions, these may interfere so I've left the original one in. Update. 05 Jul2020. I didn't develop this project any further as I eventually won and got the dual Z axis auto align to work with the ABL probe. I've left this design up for folk that still want to go with the traditional endstop limits.
