Having tried numerous attempts to get the Z probe auto Z axis alignment working successfully with my SKR V1.3 board, I decided it was time to move on to the next step and use dual Z endstops instead. My goal is to utilize optical ones as they should enable the bed to pass through them when inactive, hopefully avoiding any interference with subsequent auto bed levelling after the Z axis alignment process. These brackets can also be used even if you don't plan to go down the auto align or auto levelling route and work simply as a Z axis endstop upgrade. The items I purchased are available on eBay at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263917310874, standard Chinese-made, yet surprisingly effective, especially during my initial bench tests. Two versions of the bracket currently exist: one with a cable tidy that I modified after installation, and another without it. If you have internal corner brace blocks fitted to your extrusions, be aware that these may interfere, so I've left the original version intact.
