TronXY X5 Z-Rod reinforcement
thingiverse
Most TronXY X5-printers come with a loose Hotbed, and the Z-Rods are usually at fault. To reinforce it, I've created this modification. The models come in various sizes - the 5mm version requires an M4 12mm screw plus washer, while the 4mm version only needs an M4 8mm screw. You'll need to replace the original motor-bracket with a smaller one. My printer came with a second Y-mount, so you might want to print **motor_mount.stl** if yours didn't come with one. The stepper-connector must face the back side for it to mount properly. Instructions: 1. Remove the stepper-motor. 2. Take out the rod holders. 3. Swap to the smaller motor-bracket. 4. Install the motor (don't forget to screw in the coupler). 5. Put in the new mounts, starting from the top. I was impressed with wbanw's design on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2803134), so I incorporated his lower Z-rod mount (**rod_holder_v2_top.stl**). There's another version of the Z-rod mount available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2456962. All rights to these designs belong to their original creators. I'd love to see some photos of your prints! Greetings from Germany - Leon
