The Y-axis bed connection points are deliberately pulled out of their proper plane, introducing a critical error known as cosine or Abbe/sine error, depending on one's perspective. This error affects both the Y-distance and belt tension. In a typical setup, the belt tension is either set at the end of travel, resulting in slack in the middle, or set in the middle, causing it to stretch or pull out at the ends. Located beneath the bed, this block restores the belt to its horizontal orientation. As the motor side of the belt sits lower than the idler side, their respective endpoints remain parallel, ensuring a constant belt length and tension throughout. This design enables more precise positioning and reduced backlash within the system. The size of this block may require some customization due to its considerable dimensions. I had to replace my standard spacers with alternative ones, but you can adjust the f3d source file to fit your specific needs. Keep in mind that my measured bed-to-extrusion height was 11.54mm, so subtract the corresponding difference from the top of the block for optimal results. For best printing outcomes, align the major axis along the Y-axis, as this will ensure the allowance is correctly positioned on an uncorrected bed.
