Tronxy X1 simple 8mm Z screw adapter
thingiverse
The stock 5mm lead screw on my Tronxy X1 was severely warped. Standard 8mm lead screws are both more affordable and easier to find, so I decided to make the switch. This adapter holds the new 8mm lead nut securely in place. All the hardware came straight from the original Tronxy kit. The new nut attaches directly to the bottom of the adapter using the same original screws as shown in the picture. The screws that pass through the Z bracket into the adapter are not meant to be threaded into it, they simply act like pins to keep the adapter from rotating. The stock screw hole in the Z bracket is just barely large enough for the larger screw. Fortunately, mine doesn't rub, but if yours does, you can simply file the hole a little bigger. You may also need to file down the heads of the Z bracket screws slightly to prevent them from rubbing on the new screw, which I had to do with one out of the three screws. You will have to reset the Z steps in your firmware for the new screw. With a 4 start, 2mm pitch 8mm lead screw, use 400 steps/mm. To complete this conversion, you'll need: An 8mm x 250mm lead screw and nut A 5mm x 8mm shaft coupler to connect the motor to the new screw
