I adore my Tronxy X1, it's an incredibly affordable, excellent, and remarkably quiet printer, although it does require some tweaks. This mod transforms your Tronxy into a compact and portable machine by integrating the electronics into its frame. You can also install a Raspberry Pi, paired with Wi-Fi and a top spool holder, which turns the Tronxy into an effortless pick-up-and-go device - all you'll need is a power cable. I haven't seen this specific solution anywhere else (except under the box), so I'm guessing it's genuinely new. The Tronxy boasts elegant design, but that elegance is somewhat marred by its bulky and loose electronics box. Combined with loose cables, it becomes impractical for moving or storing. This frame mounts the controller board, organizes cables, and features a front panel that holds the display and buttons. As an added bonus, I was able to fit in a Raspberry Pi to accommodate an Octoprint server. A small frame was also added to house a dc-dc converter, powering the Raspi. Before you get too excited, be aware of a significant warning: To fit the Raspberry Pi, I had to cut all the PIO-connector-pins and remove one of the double USB-connectors to create enough space under the printbed. This option isn't suited for those who are easily intimidated. Buttons in the front come from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2266410. Have fun, leave your thoughts and comments... P.S., Some may notice that there's no USB connection from the Pi to the Melzi controller board. This is due to significant issues with the USB connection to the Pi. I removed the serial usb-chip (CH340) from the Melzi and connected serial directly to the PIO-serial pins of the Pi, eliminating USB troubles and saving space as well.
