Brackets are installed to reinforce the upper cross member and vertical frame intersection with added 608 bearing support for the leadscrews. There are numerous discussions about the merits and potential drawbacks of using bearings at the top of the leadscrews. From my own experience, installing brackets with 608 bearings made a significant improvement in print quality and also reduced resonant noise within the printer itself. According to various online posts, your results may vary. The leadscrew flailing around in an oversized plastic hole was not satisfactory for me. Installation is straightforward. Unscrew the two top bracket screws. Move the guide rod end stop onto the printed bracket. Insert the bearing and replace the bracket on the frame by reinstalling the two screws. The Bowden extruder mount remains in place for those who use it.
