Tronxy/3DCStar P802 Motherboard 80mm Cooler Adapter
thingiverse
Having stepper motors consistently overheat during complex prints prompted me to repurpose some old 80mm PC case fans. These were readily available and seemed like a suitable solution for modifying the printing setup. To secure them in place, an adapter was designed to attach directly to the motherboard of my P802 printer using M3 screws. Although the holes didn't perfectly align with my board's layout, they still fit snugly and functioned as intended. Since implementing this modification, I've experienced no issues with stepper motor overheating. During this project, attention was given to designing shrouds that would reroute airflow away from the heating bed. This was achieved by positioning the fans in a way that air is blown directly onto the print bed but then redirected so it's not blowing over the actual heat source. A more efficient design using less filament could have been implemented, but I opted for this approach due to its simplicity and effectiveness in serving its purpose.
